Here's the Guide to create the Tutorial.

First You have to Download MapThis!. Its an App i have taken from www.in7ane.com.

Great Thanks to him for Providing such a Great App. You can get it Here as StandAlone and Here as part of the MapsOfflineUltilities.

Note that you Need the .NET 2.0 Framework installed for using this App, so its Windows Only. It Should work you both XP and Vista, but there are some reported problems on Vista.

Once You Start the App, in /MapThis/bin/debug/Global Map Download Tool, you just have to go to the Browse Tab and choose your City. Place it in the Center and choose your MapType on the top left corner(Map, Satelite or Hybrid). Then justlick on Download. You are asked to enter a empty Direction.

Then you can uncheck any Zoom Levels and Tiles you dont want to have. I recommend to uncheck x1 and x2, i think thats the best compromize between quality and file size.

If you are ready then just Click the Top Button.

Sometimes, when you load a big Map, from time to time you will get some Errors, that Google blocked your Ip because of huge Traffic amount. For hat Reason you just have to wait some minutes and continue Downloading.

Once You have downloaded the file, you can repeat this with different modes or maps.

You Can Combine them in the iPhone Dialouge that you can find on the Top right.

There you Can specify with which Maps the Modes Maps, Satelites or Hybrid should be filled.

Then Convert it to an iPhone Readable Format.

You will get an MapTiles.sqlitedb File. Rename This file to what ever you want but you are just alloqed to use normal letters , no special letters or spaces.

Then copy that File to your Library/MapsOffline/Cache Folder

For 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. User its: /private/var/root/Library/MapsOffline/Cache/

For 1.1.3 and 1.1.4. User its: /private/var/mobile/Library/MapsOffline/Cache/
